The co-operative ALPENROSE has been founded in the year 2000 by 9 beekeepers and apiarists from the Val Badia, a valley in the middle of the Dolomites.The aim was to co-operate in order to sell efficiently apicultural products. Already in 1998 projects, which were financed by the Autonome Provinz Bozen, the job department and the Social founds for Europe, were assigned to the “ Raiun de chi dales es Val Badia “.The projects were called: Training and qualifying of beekeepers in the Val Badia and New scenarios and possibilities for apiculture.

This pilot project not only raised interest between the 30 participants, but had some of them involved in the ideas and possibilities of creating the co-operative Rhododendron as well.
